We are monitoring the rapidly changing COVID-19 updates in Iowa as they continue to develop. Our goal is to keep our staff, customers and communities as safe as possible while continuing to serve you.

Our lobbies remain CLOSED to all non-essential business.

IMPORTANT NOTICE! Beginning now, small businesses and sole proprietorships can apply for and receive loans to cover their payroll and other certain expenses through HCSB lenders. Funds are provided in the form of loans that may be fully forgiven when used for payroll costs, interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities.

Who can apply?

All businesses – including nonprofits & veterans organizations with less than 500 employees. You do not need to be an existing HCSB customer to apply.  HCSB lenders are able to help any business who qualifies.

What is needed?

You will need to complete the Paycheck Protection Program loan application and submit the application with the required documentation to an HCSB lender by June 30, 2020. You will need to provide your lender with payroll documentation. We encourage you to apply quickly as there is a funding cap.

What are the terms?

All loan terms will be the same for everyone.

     · 1.00% interest for up to 24 months.

· Loan payments will be deferred for 6 months.

· The loan amounts will be forgiven as long as:

-  The loan proceeds are used to cover payroll costs, and most mortgage interest, rent, and utility costs over the 8 week period after the loan is made; and

-  Employee and compensation levels are maintained or employees are rehired quickly.

· Loans can be for up to two months of your average monthly payroll costs from the last year plus an additional 25% of that amount.

· No collateral or personal guarantees are required.

· Neither the government nor the lenders will charge small businesses any fees.

The Hardin County Savings Bank has been here for over 150 years. We want you to know that we are strong, prepared and ready for disruptions in business. We have contingency plans that have been tested for a variety of scenarios and know we are ready. We have navigated recessions, a depression, natural disasters and war. We have stood strong through it all. This is what we plan for. Thank you for being part of the HCSB family! Through these unprecedented times and as always, we remain Together With You!

Here are a few things you can do:

  • We strongly suggest using Online Banking and the HCSB mobile app for your phone or tablet. If you need help registering or resetting your password, please call us. We are happy to walk you through it. With Online Banking you can review your accounts, transfer funds between accounts, make payments on HCSB loans, make payments via BillPay, and much more. With the app you can do all those things as well as deposit checks.
  • Handle cash as little as possible. If you do need cash, consider using the ATM at the Motorbank in Eldora or the lobby in Union.
  • The Motorbank and Union Drive-through are good choices for taking care of account transactions at this time.
  • Use the night drop in Eldora and Union.
  • Be aware of any scams surrounding the virus. Unfortunately, criminals will prey on crisis situations. Be aware of price gouging, phishing attacks or fake websites.
  • Email or phone calls are an excellent way to communicate with our staff. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Here is what we are doing:

  • Enhanced sanitizing of our offices.
  • Providing sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer for our staff.
  • Asking our staff to stay home if they have any symptoms.
  • Monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization and the Office of the Iowa Governor.

Please continue to watch for updates and guidance as this situation evolves.
