Use your HCSB Debit Card and earn cash for South Hardin, BCLUW and AGWSR schools. Hardin County Savings Bank will donate up to 10% of our interchange income for purchases that require a signed sales receipt (including internet transactions) and for each purchase that requires a PIN. The overall donation each school receives depends on how many customers choose that school, and how many transactions are made. The income is based on the amount of card usage. The more a debit card is used, the more money the school will receive.

Q. What is the Cash for Schools Debit Card program?

A. Our Cash for Schools program empowers enrolled customers to support their favorite school district each time they make a purchase with their Hardin County Savings Bank debit card. This program is a powerful way to make a difference for schools. At various times during the year HCSB makes a donation to the cardholder's designated school. ATM transactions are not included in this program.


Q. How do I enroll in Cash for Schools?

A. To enroll, customers must open a Hardin County Savings Bank checking account with a debit card (if they don't already have one) and enroll in the Cash for Schools program by designating a school district. For existing customers, enrollment is easy! Customers can register on our website here, call 641-939-3407 or stop by any Hardin County Savings Bank location. New customers may enroll at the time they open their checking account.


Q. How much will it cost to participate in Cash for Schools? Is it really free?

A. There is no cost to you or your designated school to enroll in the program. Hardin County Savings Bank makes the donation to the school of your choice.


Q. Do I have to be a Hardin County Savings Bank customer?

Q: Do I need to use a Mascot Debit Card to be enrolled in the program?

A: No, you can enroll in Cash for Schools if you have an HCSB checking account with any debit card.


Q: What is a Mascot Debit Card and how do I get one?

A:  Hardin County Savings Bank is excited to offer a specialized debit card for each of the school district choices (Tiger, Comet and Cougar.) Current customers can order a new Mascot debit card at no cost by clicking here. You can also choose the Mascot debit card when your card is set to renew.  New customers will have the option of choosing a Mascot debit card, or the traditional blue HCSB debit card.  To view examples of each school’s specialized Mascot debit card, click here.


Q. What schools can be designated?

A. Schools neighboring Hardin County Savings Bank's locations are eligible and include:

South Hardin, AGWSR and BCLUW.


Q. Can I register more than one school?

A. No, only one school may be designated for each debit card customer.

A. At various times during the year, the transactions are totaled for each school and donated directly to the designated schools.

Q. What does the donation go toward at the schools?

A. We trust that the money donated will be used to contribute to the betterment of the school district. Hardin County Savings Bank imposes no spending requirements or guidelines.


Q. Can I see which customers are participating in Cash for Schools program?

A. No, due to our privacy policy, customers cannot view other customer's information.


Q. If I change my school in the middle of the year, which school will benefit from my points?

A. The school district on your record at the time we calculate the rewards will receive the donation.


Q. If I move, how do I change my school?

A. A customer may change their designated school by calling 641-939-3407 or by stopping by Hardin County Savings Bank in Eldora or Union.

A. Use it wherever MasterCard Debit Card is accepted. Customers may earn money for their favorite school with every debit card purchase - it may be used for groceries, movies, travel and everyday purchases. ATM transactions are not included in this program.
