Information for Online Users

 

HCSB Online is now available!

 

You can access HCSB Online (via the log-in box above) or download the new App from the Apple Store or Google Play – just search for Hardin County Savings Bank and look for the HCSB icon.

If you are an existing user, follow these guidelines: 

  1. ENTER YOUR EXISTING USERNAME
  2. ENTER YOUR TEMPORARY PASSWORD -last 4 digits of your SSN Business Customers use the last four digits of your business TIN.
  3. SELECT A NEW PASSWORD You may be able to use your previous password – follow the instructions.
  4. VERIFY YOUR CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS

After you have successfully logged in:

  • Bill Pay: enter your payees and recurring payments. (see below for instructions)
  • Register for eStatements if you haven’t already.
  • Set-up account notifications and alerts. For example: low balance alert, large withdrawal alert, weekly balance notification etc.
  • Set up Scheduled and Recurring Transfers
  • eStatement history may take up to 3-4 months to catch up. Ask us if you need a statement, we’ll be happy to provide one for you.
 

Bill Pay Users - How to set up a payee: 

1. Log in to your account.

2. Select the Bill Pay link

3. Click "Add a Payee"

4. Enter the information for the company or person you want to pay. 

Important NOTE: As an added security feature, the ability to set up your first payee using your phone (mobile device) is enabled AFTER you log-in to Online Banking using your computer (laptop or desktop). If you are not able to add a payee using your phone, log-in to online banking on your computer to create your first bill pay.

Your statement cycle may change

  • If your statement is on the last day of the month it will remain the same.
  • All other cycles will change to the 15th of the month.
  • You will receive a paper statement in August – even if you are currently on eStatements.
  • You will receive an additional statement prior to conversion on September 3.

 

Quicken & QuickBooks Users Online Conversion Instructions

As Hardin County Savings Bank completes our system conversion, you will need to modify your Quicken Online settings to ensure that your data connectivity transfers smoothly to the new system.

The following contains instructions for FOUR Quicken and FOUR QuickBooks connectivity types.  Please choose the one you use and complete the steps.

IMPORTANT: Express Web Connect will not be available for up to 5 business days after the 2nd Action Date, so please utilize another connectivity type if you need transaction updates during this downtime.

Download Information

DO NOT WORRY if were unable to meet the Sept. 3 action step deadline. You will still be able to access your last download date. Take note of the date you last had a successful connection. If you have overlapping dates in the Webconnect process, you may end up with duplicate transactions.

Quicken Windows Web Connect

 

Windows Web Connect will be available on Tuesday, September 8 after 8:00AM

First log onto your HCSB Online Banking account by using your username and the last four digits of your SSN for your password. Review your information and be sure your accounts are showing properly. If you have any questions please call 641-939-3407 or email us at HCSB@HardinCSB.com When you are satisfied that all your accounts are correct, move onto your next step:

  1. Deactivate online banking connection for accounts connected to financial institution that is requesting this change.
    • Choose Tools > Account List.
    • Click Edit on the account to deactivate.
    • In Account Details, click Online Services.
    • Click Deactivate. Follow prompts to confirm deactivation.
    • Click the General tab.
    • Delete Financial Institution and Account Number information.
    • Click OK to close window.
    • Repeat steps for any additional accounts.
  2. Reconnect online banking connection for accounts that apply.
    • Download a Quicken Web Connect file from your financial institution’s online banking site.
    • In Quicken, choose File > File Import > Web Connect (.QFX) File.
    • Use the import dialog to select the Web Connect file you downloaded. An “Import Downloaded Transactions” window opens.
    • Choose Link to an existing account. Select the matching account in the drop-down menu. Associate the imported transactions to the correct account listed in Quicken.
    • Repeat this step for each account you have connected to this institution.

Quicken Mac Web Connect

 

Mac Web Connect will be available on Tuesday, September 8 after 8:00AM

First log onto your HCSB Online Banking account by using your username and the last four digits of your SSN for your password. Review your information and be sure your accounts are showing properly. If you have any questions please call 641-939-3407 or email us at HCSB@HardinCSB.com When you are satisfied that all your accounts are correct, move onto your next step:

  • Activate online banking connection for accounts connected to financial institution that is requesting this change.
  1. Select your account under the Accounts list on the left side.
  2. Choose Accounts > Settings.
  3. Select Set up transaction download.
  4. Enter your financial institution name in the search field, select the correct option and click Continue.
  5. Log into your financial institutions online banking site and download your transactions to your computer.

Important: Take note of the date you last had a successful connection. If you have overlapping dates in the web-connect process, you may end up with duplicate transactions.

  1. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the box titled Drop download file. Choose Web Connect for the “Connection Type” if prompted
  2. In the “Accounts Found” screen, ensure you associate each new account to the appropriate account already listed in Quicken. Under the Action column, click Link to pick your existing account.

Important: Do NOT select “ADD” in the Action column unless you intend to add a new account to Quicken.

  1. Click Finish.

    • Choose Tools > Account List.

    • Click the General tab.
    • Delete Financial Institution and Account Number information. Click OK to close window.
    • Repeat steps for any additional accounts that apply.
  2. Reconnect the online banking connection for your accounts.
    • Choose Tools > Account List.
    • Click Edit on the account you want to activate.
    • In Account Details, click Online Services and then choose Set up Now.
    • Type your institution’s name in the search field and click Next.
    • Enter your financial institution credentials.
      • Express Web Connect uses the same credentials you use for your institution’s online banking login.
      • Direct Connect might require credentials that do not match your online banking credentials.
      • Important: If your credentials do not work, contact your financial institution.
    • Ensure you associate the accounts to the appropriate accounts already listed in Quicken. Select Link to an existing account and select the matching accounts in the drop-down menu.
      • Important: Do NOT choose “Create a new account” unless you intend to add a new account to Quicken. If you are presented with accounts you do not want to track in this data file, choose Ignore – Don’t Download into Quicken or click Cancel.
    • After all accounts have been matched, click Next and then Done.

Quicken Mac Quicken Connect

 

Mac Quicken Connect will be available on Tuesday, September 8 after 8:00AM

First log onto your HCSB Online Banking account by using your username and the last four digits of your SSN for your password. Review your information and be sure your accounts are showing properly. If you have any questions please call 641-939-3407 or email us at HCSB@HardinCSB.com When you are satisfied that all your accounts are correct, move onto your next step:

  1. Click your account in the Accounts list on the left side.
  2. Choose Accounts > Settings.
  3. Select Set up transaction download.
  4. Enter your financial institution name in the search field, select the correct option and click Continue.
  5. Enter your financial institution credentials.
    • Express Web Connect uses the same credentials you use for your institution’s online banking login.
    • Direct Connect might require credentials that do not match your online banking credentials. Important: If your credentials do not work, contact your financial institution.
  1. In the “Accounts Found” screen, ensure you associate each new account to the appropriate account already listed in Quicken. Under Action, choose Link to pick your existing account.
    • Important: Do NOT select “ADD” in the Action column unless you intend to add a new account to Quicken.
  2. Click Finish.

QuickBooks Online Web Connect

 

Online Web Connect will be available on Tuesday, September 8 after 8:00 AM

First log onto your HCSB Online Banking account by using your username and the last four digits of your SSN for your password. Review your information and be sure your accounts are showing properly. If you have any questions please call 641-939-3407 or email us at HCSB@HardinCSB.com When you are satisfied that all your accounts are correct, move onto your next step:

Disconnect online banking connection for accounts connected to Hardin County Savings Bank.

  1. Select Banking from the left column.
  2. Click on the account you would like to disconnect, then click the Pencil Icon on the corner of that account box.
  3. Click Edit Account Info.
  4. Check the box next to Disconnect this Account on Save.
  5. Click Save and Close.
  6. Repeat steps for any additional accounts that apply.

Reconnect online banking connection for accounts that apply.

  1. Download a Web Connect file (.qbo or .qfx) from your financial institution’s online banking site.
  2. In QuickBooks Online, choose Banking from the left column.
  3. Click File Upload in the upper-right side of the screen and use the upload dialog to locate the Web Connect file you downloaded in step a.
  4. Choose the appropriate account from the drop-down menu under QuickBooks Account and then click Next.

Important: Do NOT choose “+Add New” in the drop-down menu unless you intend to add a new account to QuickBooks Online.

  1. When the import is finished, click Let's go!
  2. Review the For Review tab on the Banking page to view what was downloaded.
  3. Click Next, and then click Done.
  1. Repeat this step for each account that you have connected to this institution.

QuickBooks Online Express Web Connect

 

Online Express will be available on Tuesday, September 8 after 8:00 AM

First log onto your HCSB Online Banking account by using your username and the last four digits of your SSN for your password. Review your information and be sure your accounts are showing properly. If you have any questions please call 641-939-3407 or email us at HCSB@HardinCSB.com When you are satisfied that all your accounts are correct, move onto your next step:

Disconnect online banking connection for accounts connected to Hardin County Savings Bank.

  1. Select Banking from the left column.
  2. Click the account you want to disconnect, then click the Pencil Icon on the corner of that account box.
  3. Click Edit Account Info.
  4. Check the box next to Disconnect this Account on Save.
  5. Select Save and Close.
  6. Repeat steps for any additional accounts that apply.

Complete these steps after Monday, September 15

Reconnect online banking connection for accounts that apply.

  1. On the Banking page, click Add Account in the upper-right side of the screen.
  2. Type yourHardin County Savings Bank and choose the correct option from the results.
  3. Enter your HCSB Online credentials and click Continue. Express Web Connect uses the same credentials you use for your institution’s online banking.
  4. Provide additional information, if requested.
  5. Ensure you associate the accounts for your financial institution to the appropriate account already listed under Which accounts do you want to connect? Choose the matching accounts in the drop-down menu.

Important: Do NOT select “+Add New” unless you intend to add a new account to QuickBooks Online. If you are presented with accounts you do not want to track in this QuickBooks Online Company, Uncheck the box next to the Account Name.

6. After all accounts have been matched, click Connect and then click Finish.

 Exclude Duplicate Transactions.

  1. Select Banking from the left column.
  2. In the For Review section, click the checkboxes for the transactions you want to exclude.
  3. Choose Batch Actions > Exclude Selected.

QuickBooks Windows Web Connect

 

Windows Web Connect will be available on Tuesday, September 8 after 8:00 AM

First log onto your HCSB Online Banking account by using your username and the last four digits of your SSN for your password. Review your information and be sure your accounts are showing properly. If you have any questions please call 641-939-3407 or email us at HCSB@HardinCSB.com When you are satisfied that all your accounts are correct, move onto your next step:

  1. Deactivate online banking connection for accounts connected to Hardin County Savings Bank.
  2. Choose Lists menu > Chart of Accounts.
  3. Right-click the first account you want to deactivate and choose Edit Account.
  4. Click the Bank Feeds Settings tab in the Edit Account window.
  5. Select Deactivate All Online Services and click Save & Close.
  6. Click OK for any alerts or messages that may appear with the deactivation.
  7. Repeat steps for any additional accounts that you need to deactivate.
  8. Reconnect online banking connection for accounts that you deactivated.
  9. Log in to your HCSB online banking site and download your transactions to a QuickBooks (.qbo) file.

Note: Take note of your last successful upload. Duplicate transactions can occur if you have overlapping transaction dates in the new transaction download.

  1. In QuickBooks, choose File > Utilities > Import > Web Connect Files. Locate your saved Web Connect file and select to import.
  2. In the Select Bank Account dialog select Use an existing QuickBooks account. Important: Do NOT select “Create a new QuickBooks account” unless you intend to add a new account to QuickBooks.
  3. In the drop-down list, choose your QuickBooks account(s) and click Continue. Confirm by selecting OK.

QuickBooks Mac Web Connect

 

Mac Web Connect will be available on Tuesday, September 8 after 8:00 AM.

First log onto your HCSB Online Banking account by using your username and the last four digits of your SSN for your password. Review your information and be sure your accounts are showing properly. If you have any questions please call 641-939-3407 or email us at HCSB@HardinCSB.com When you are satisfied that all your accounts are correct, move onto your next step:

  1. Deactivate online banking connection for accounts connected to the financial institution that is requesting this change.
    • Choose Lists > Chart of Accounts.
    • Select the first account you would like to deactivate and choose Edit > Edit Account.
    • Select Online Settings in the Edit Account window.
    • In the Online Account Information window, choose Not Enabled from the Download Transactions list and click Save.
    • Click OK for any dialog boxes that may appear with the deactivation.
    • Repeat steps for any additional accounts that apply.
  2. Reconnect online banking connection for accounts that apply.
    • Log in to your HCSB online banking site and download your transactions into a QuickBooks (.qbo) file
    • Important: Take note of your last successful upload. Duplicate transactions can occur if you have overlapping transaction dates in the new transaction download.
    • In QuickBooks, choose File > Import > From Web Connect. Use the import dialog to import your saved Web Connect file.
    • In the Account Association window, click Select an Account to choose the appropriate existing account register
    • Important: Do NOT select “NEW” under the action column unless you intend to add a new account to QuickBooks.
    • Click Continue and OK for any dialog boxes that require action
